Angry 'Our toners do not work in Europe'

According to precisionroller the genuine TN910 that is sold in the US is not the same as the genuine TN910 sold in Europe.

A lot of the toners sold here in the US are not the same as the ones used in Europe. The toner itself should be the same but usually the ctg is slightly different or the chip (if there is one) is programmed different.

I am quite sure this is not the case for the TN910 (Bizhub 920). Cartridge is the same and there is no chip.

The EU toner bottle is stronger to withstand the faster rotation of the toner bottle motor due to the fact that here in europe we use 220v.

Yeah 220volts @ 50 hertz, have you ever seen a toner bottle rotate at 50 cycles per second?

    No neither have I.

We may be on the brink of establishing the official copier tech sport: toner bottle throwing - fastest spinning and longest distance wins.

But anyway - does precisionroller treat everyone like retards or I was the lucky one ?

Believe it or not, i can remember an issue in the late 80's, where imported us toner generates a big mess on the canon NP 270/305/400/500 series here in germany. The reason was, that the mashine takes the power line frequence as timebase to generate the bias ac frequence, resulting in different values. The printouts were fading and toner was dumping from the developing unit.

Good to know, I'd never have thought of that. Thanks for the info.
