Dumbest feature ever on a copier.

I'd have to go with a braille overlay for the touch screen.

We once serviced a copier at The Institute for the Blind, and they always were complaining about copy quality.

Putting a little tray on the machine to hold paper clips (and used staples). A definite service call generator.

The Mita DD-1 was the dumbest thing ever bolted to a copier. Back when other vendors had digital copiers Mita had the DD-1, it was a little laser printer that exited prints into the copier Doc Feeder tray and then made copies of your freshly printed originals. They bolted on over the toner cartridge door on I think the DC-8095 and DC-6095. Saw it once in our showroom back in the day, it was good for a laugh but not much else.

Sharp fax kits have this thing call "Fax Destination Confirmation" mode. It basically has you enter the fax number twice; just in case you change your mind I guess. My other vote would also go to Sharp. There is a setting that can make the touch screen response up to 5 seconds. You literally have to hold the touch screen for 5 seconds for the selection to work. I must admit, the first time I walked in on this I was scratching my head because the touch panel worked fine in service mode. It turned out the rep was "training" (I use that term loosely) and they somehow changed the setting to 5 seconds.

Lol Gwaddle. I just got the braille part numbers for the MX-4111-5111 yesterday. No buttons AND a braille pad. All fine and well until someone changes the display pattern.

You should watch the video for it. Funniest thing I've seen in quite a while. And the guy does it with a straight face.

I had a copier at a school for the deaf that complained the machine was too noisy.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Oce' hid the paper trays behind a compartment door on their 3045/3055/3065/3165 series. Yep, no refilling on the fly; had to bring the machine to a complete stop to add paper. Oh, the bypass tray was single sheet feed and vertically oriented but not clearly marked so you'd get calls where the user put 20+ sheets in. The machine would take them, jam, and then you had to disassemble the paper path to clear.

Heck !!! I've been in some offices where the dumbest features were the power cord and the ' ON ' switch.
