Just about anything Ricoh from about 4 years ago will eventually fail. They blame it on the adhesive used to hold things together, and there used to be a replacement program. They shipped us thousands of them and wanted us to proactively replace every one of them hopefully before they failed for free - not sure if that program is still active or not, but check the Tech Bulletins for details on any machine with a dead panel.

Can you do anything with the cores? I've got a pile of them on the corner of my desk. I figured that when I got some time I'd give a try at fixing a couple. Well ... I'd better not wait for that. It's never going to happen. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

KM-c2525e - I have seen some helpful posts on resolving unresponsive touch panels on this m/c. blackcat4866 suggests removing the control panels, extracting and dismantling the touch panel (aka tablet) and cleaning and reseating. Failing that, he suggests that the tablet sub assy can be rebuilt from the following parts.
fig 27-27 quantity (1) 302FZ05060 Sheet
fig 27-19 quantity (1) 302FB25190 Tablet
fig 27-7 quantity (2) 2BJ25280 Foam Seals
fig 27-6 quantity (2) 2BJ25270 Foam Seals
It would assist me if I had a copy of the engineering diagrams in which fig 27 appears and perhaps some images. Also any suggestions about where to source these parts other than through the UK Kyocera network of which I am not a member.
Grateful for any assistance - Hugh hugh.meares[at]paullhull.com
