    Touch Panels once again.....

Not responding touch panels often can be repaired as long as the problem lays in the connection of the flat ribbon cable.

However, many customers irritated by the non responsive Touch Function use excessive force and sharp objects such as pens to operate the panels. Furthermore some of our colleagues try to revive not responding Touch Panels by putting them in an oven at high temperatures. This all results in invisible damage to the thin plastic foil on top of the glass pane making a repair impossible.

For this reason we intend to supply in the future brand new aftermarket Touch Panels in such cases where repair is not possible anymore.

To offer a complete assortment for as many models we like to know once again which models from what manufacturers are suffering from not responding Touch Panels.

Kindly post here the manufacturers name and model knowing to have been affected.

    Many thanks in advance

    Hans

    Re: Touch Panels once again.....

It must be that time of the year again. Within the last week I've replaced:
    (2) Copystar VoyagerE (CS-C2525E, CS-C3225E, CS-C3232E, CS-C4035E)
    (1) Copystar Stratos (CS-2560, CS-3060)
    (1) Copystar Stratos (CS-2540, CS-3040)
    (1) Konica Minolta bizhub 350

It comes around twice a year, and I'll have to change a dozen or so touch panels (tablets).

Sometimes cleaning the grit out from around the cover edges will help. I'll try that first, and re-aligning the screen, but lately the majority have been parts replacement. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks Cat. With Bizhub 350 you mean the color or BW models?

    (2) Copystar VoyagerE (CS-C2525E, CS-C3225E, CS-C3232E, CS-C4035E)
    (1) Copystar Stratos (CS-2560, CS-3060)
    (1) Copystar Stratos (CS-2540, CS-3040)
Are they all the same type or are they different in size and location of the ribbon cable?

Sorry, it was a C350 (color). The Copystar tablets all have the ribbon cable in approximately the same location, but the size of the tablet is different on each group of machines.

Last year it was Canon iR4570's the used tablets.

    Dank je wel Eric.

Zijn ze allemaal hetzelfde type of hebben ze verschillende afmetingen?

    Bedankt alvast.

Could be indeed. If high humidity is present moisture deteriorates the compound between the ribbon cable and traces on the glass pane.

Is het voor jouw bezwaarlijk Eric mij die part# van de verschillende panels te geven?

    Vriendelijke groet

I read that in a bulletin, somewhere. I've got a few working for a week or more just by pressing the ribbon to the tablet. It never seems to last for more than a few days or a week though. =^..^=
