Mr Bill - The lawsuit regarding early voting rights for military service members is not about stopping it... its about extending that same right to non-military citizens as well.

Regarding your comments on IDs and gun sales - I live in Montana. I can walk into a gun show and 15 minutes later walk out with an AR14 without having to show any kind of ID. I know this because this is how I got my AR14 (semi auto at the time of purchase ).

As far as the subject of this thread goes - I think Obama will win because Mittens is simply hard to like.

Yes, there are people who wan't to prevent large blocks of people from voting. If you're going to deny that you can stop reading now.

FACT: Voter ID Laws disproportionately effect poor and urban voters (who are more likely to vote Democratic), they are designed to do that and that is what they do. It's not about preventing voter fraud, it's about preventing votes from certain demographics. That is why after passing a new voter ID law the Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Mike Turzai (R) said, "Voter ID is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania".

This is how it works, poor urban voters are less likely to have drivers licences or other form of accepted government ID. They are also less likely to have the documentation needed to easily obtain these forms of ID and since it cost money to obtain certified copies of whatever documentation they need the voter ends up not voting. This isn't some stuff I'm just making up, this it how and why it's done. There is also a precedent in law that has said that a requirement to purchase an ID from the government to be able to vote amounts to a Poll Tax and Poll Taxes are illegal in the US. Voter ID Laws have nothing to do with preventing voter fraud, if voter fraud was rampant you could probably find me the names of 10 people that were convicted of voter fraud but you can't because there aren't, it is all a ruse to prevent voting.

If the Republitards were willing to do anything other than spend all their time getting Obama out of office than maybe they wouldn't be a party in shambles on it way to becoming the Whig party of the 21st Century.

Your right about the poor lazy welfare receipt watching cable tv on their HDTV doesn't have the time to go pick up a Drivers License and/or State ID...but they apparently have the "certified copies of whatever" to sign up for welfare and food stamps....

As for your comment about the "second amendment crowd", walk in to any sporting goods store in Michigan and try to buy a gun with out ID...just doesn't happen so easily as you think... For a hand gun, you first need to visit a the sheriffs department and apply for a purchase permit... Once you undergone a FBI background check... several days to weeks... then you get to purchase your gun...but can't take it home for yet another 3 day waiting period... Get real....there are many obstacles to purchasing guns in many states...

As for your "Republitards" comment, it only shows your mental age...Grow up and show some respect diverse view points....Oh! I'm sorry your a liberal elite and I'm just a hard working tax paying citizen...and you know what is good for us...!

As for your; "voting is your Right" comment; It's a privilege to Vote in the United States and with that privilege come responsibilities... Oh! I'm sorry your "disproportionately effect poor and urban voters" don't have time to make the effort to participate in society norm by being just a little bit responsible....!

I did look up some info. There is no loop hole in gun show sales. you have to show ID no matter what. Even with a long rifle you have to show ID. The seller will call in the sale and if you pass then you can take a rifle same day. Hand gun there is still a waiting period. Private sales, yes there is no paper work. This is a very liberal state. Get mad at the governeor. Not me.

And Mr Sherlock Hemlock the great detective. Unemployment under Bush was no where near what it is today. The last month of Bush it was 7.3 % . Now it's 8.3 %, but it's even higher that that because so many people have given uplooking for work.

Ya know i used to get a govt check once a month, free health care, food, place to live all from the govt. Even got some nice uniforms, a gun, and an all expense paid sunny 1 year vacation to Iraq. Something that has always boggled my mind over the years with my stint in the military. Liberals and socialists want to control everything and give people everything etc etc. That is what the military is. They give you all those things and control your life. Control it beyond the point it is maddening. I mean that's the sort of system they want yet they hate the military for the most part. It's a bureaucratic wet dream. Which leads me to another thing I figured out on my own but what tons of studies and high ranking officials can't seem to figure out. Suicide is up in the military. They give you the typical quarterly power point presentation that makes you want to off your self just sitting through it. What they can't figure out is all the excess stress of the red tape, stupidity, and over excessive control over a person's life on top of multiple deployments might just push someone over the edge. But typical progressive liberal thinking they are working on an anti suicide nasal spray. Maybe they should try common sense.

One again the Right is wrong. As a Washington State resident you should know that there are NO ID or reporting requirements involved with private sales of firearms in the state of Washington but there is a voulentary form you can mail in if you really feel the need to. Also, Washington State has made no effort to close the "Gun Show Loophole" which you could probably lookup online sometime if you ever wanted to know the actual facts.

Ctl-Alt-Del...well you have a choice, since you live in Washington State.

1. Advocate your position with the state legislators and change your laws in Washington State.

2. Move to Chicago, IL or Washington DC and live in a city with some of the toughest/strictest gun control laws in the country. But be forewarned if you do move to Chicago or DC you will have to put up with some of the highest murder rates in the entire country...

In fact every weekend 4-10 people are murdered and 10-20 are attacked, shot and stabbed in these Highly Restricted Gun Control Liberal run cities....and this fact can be verified... In these cities honest tax paying citizens cannot own a firearm to protect themselves from these animals...who have guns... By the way I worked the South Side Chicago and witness the gang wars for several years...

But until the US Constitution is changed, I will protect any law abiding legal citizen to own, maintain and possess legally (and constitutionally protected) purchased guns...

Thanks Kadver for that great service to your nation. You must have realized that military life is the same the world over---probably even in heaven. It is all about FOLLOWING ORDERS to the letter, --- and asking questions later. But i bet the military is the most disciplined institution in the world. It molds people into real disciplinarians, complete with self control, endurance, persistence as some of its good attributes! Most of the great leaders of the world (since time immemorial), including your country, have had a stint in the military where their leadership potentials & abilities were fully developed.

Yes I agree there are many values and lessons you can learn in the military. I was proud when I wore my uniform, but all the red tape, bureaucracy, and regulations can be quite frustrating and maddening. The phrase "hurry up and wait" is used quite a lot in the Army. I remember getting home from Iraq and we were in Ft Bliss for demobilization. All sitting around in line waiting just to go in and check out DD-214's and sign them. They wheeled in a TV and DVD player. I sat thru the movie Paul Blaird Mall Cop 2 1/2 times before I got in to sign my paper work. I think I needed a suicide prevention powerpoint class after that. The point I was trying to make was my cynical way of all the nonsensical crap you gotta go thru to get anything done. The Army has a regulation for everything...and I do mean everything. I've always been an analytical, logical type person. Probably what makes me a half ass decent copier tech. If there is an easier way to do something I'm gonna find it. Fast and efficiently. That don't fly in the Army. I guess that's why the progressive way of thinking just irritates me because it doesn't make logical sense. Sure it sounds great in theory and it makes some people feel all goody goody puking rainbows and kittens from their eyes, but that line of thinking usually falls out of line with human nature. Also by no means am I a conservative republican either. Like the 2nd amendment thing here. Pointed out above that cities with very strict gun laws have higher crime rates. Due to the fact that a law abiding citizen has to go thru all the red tape to purchase a fire arm. A criminal doesn't because they aren't going to follow the law and go that route. And the spending, both parties are guilty as hell on that one, but at least one side is getting their feet put to the fire to do something about it and they are at least expressing ideas on how to do that. The other side is just spending money like crazy. I wish I could spend money like that! I'd have a new house, new car, all the beer and video games I could play all day(while not working of course) and have someone else pay for it. In theory that sounds like a good plan, in reality I think people would come to not respect me because I'd be an irresponsible lazy good for nothing.
