Vivitar 8400 is quite a good little one, cheap and an 8.1meg CCD. Cheap and cheerful.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

How deep do you plan on taking it? There are a bunch that are inherently waterproof to anywhere from 10ft to 40ft. One of my favourites is the Kodak PlaySport Zx3, paid $139 CAD and it takes nice outdoor photos and video is very nice too, right up to 1080p.
As a scuba diver, my 'real' camera is a Canon G12 in an Ikelite housing, but that's well beyond a cheap camera for a vacation.
I would not recommend this guy...

thanks for the replies and im checking both cameras out. bid on one on fleebay so ill wait and see on. its snorkling only as well
