Wild and wacky vehicle number plates.
I've been on a jaunt out of state. While travelling about this great country, I found myself laughing at some of the wild and wacky vehicle registration number plates I'd seen while driving about.

These are genuine registation plates. I have no idea where some of these come from.

    Re: The random thought thread

Just came across what used to be my favorite Beach Boys tune from years ago:

They didn't play it on the radio a lot around this part of the periphery, so I guess that it was a so called "deep cut" back then. Sort of like this:

Here it is again, but differently (if you've never seen the Beatles's Yellow Submarine movie this one will look weird, but such was the way of things at that time (stupid blue meanies and flying fickle finger of fate)):

    Sorry.

There's a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch here right now.
This will either be really fun to watch from my enclosed front porch or something else.
Good thing its only ten steps from the front porch to the basement stairs.
However, if you are east of here keep an eye on this, there's a tiny chance it may be coming your way.
I wish I could program the weather radio alert to be some old Van Halen, I think Unchained would work well, although I suppose Motorhead's Ace of Spades might be more effective. Oh well.

    Re: The random thought thread

Got some lyrics stuck in my head, first heard them ages ago in the opening credits of the movie "Blown Away" (I know, don't remind me).
So for our friends from Eire, here are the lyrics to what I'm pretty sure is the first verse of The Prince's Day.
I'm working on this on violin, scratching my way through it. Tough challenge for a beginner.

"Though dark are our sorrows, today we'll forget them
And smile through our tears like a sunbeam in showers.
There never were hearts, if our rulers would let them,
More formed to be tranquil and blessed than ours.

But just when the chain has ceased to pain
And hope has en-wreathed it 'round with flowers,
There comes a new link our spirit to sink.

Oh, the joy that we taste, like the light of the poles
Is a flash amid darkness, too brilliant to stay.
But though t'were the last little spark in our souls
We must light it up now on our Prince's Day."

Now that I've gotten that typed out, maybe I'll get something else stuck in my head.
Maybe "PRN" by Ryan Delahoussaye of Blue October. Now there's a challenge for a beginner violinist.
