    Re: The random thought thread

My wife went to volunteer at a place that gives out free pet food and supplies to people who can't afford them. Came home sad and upset about an older lady who came in and told them she could no longer feed herself and her pets so she was buying the pet food and eating it with her pets. I have had weeks where all I could afford was cat and dog food but have not had to eat it. Keeps things very real about how there is always someone else who has it worse than you do. This place also take food donations for people and was able to help the lady.

This may be a little comfort, but the US government requires that all petfood be suitable for human consumption because of things just like this.

Alpo makes these small soft dog biscuits I get for my Chihuahua. I can't help but notice hoe much they smell like Slim Jims. I haven't tried them. I am curious as to how many ingredients are the same. Not sure if the results would make me feel better about the biscuits or worse about the Slim Jims.

The Sheba brand canned cat food is pretty good. Needs salt though.

If you want to try that, be very careful. A buddy of mine when I was probably in the Reserves gave me a piece of what turned out to be dog jerky, but it looked and smelled exactly like regular beef jerky. I took a big bite, and it tasted exactly like liver. I have hated liver flavored things ever since I can remember eating food. I spit out what was in my mouth and threw the rest of it on the roof of a nearby building.

The look and smell have to do with the spices and drying process. It most like was liver or other organ meat.

So this is what's been going on all along. I wondered. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I've actually come up against a similar situation. I had a new employee associate in the Tech learning phase, who picked my brain for every thing I knew. I soon realise that my specialised information was getting back to the boss to elevate himself to a promotion an better salary. I personally didn't care for any promotion in the company, but I did learn the corporate ladder principle, and who's helping hands you tread on while climbing up the corporate ladder.

It come to a point were I didn't share anything of worth with him any more. After some time in the company he would ask me how to repair this or that machine. I looked at him one day and said "Is it smart to play dumb, or dumb to play smart?"...

Only after I left the company did the real truth become known about the new employees...
I got it years later from the old boss, along with a round about way of an apology from him as well...

To the corporate ladder climbers: -- go for it. You'll only make hardened corns on all those hands that you tread on with your climb to the top.
