Pizza toppings

This thread got me hungry for pizza. So I picked up a pie on the way home from work last night, had everything on it. This morning I decided to try putting eggs on it with my left overs. I scrambled some eggs up in a Pyrex cup in the microwave. Then I put them on top of my cold pizza. It was delicious. The egg and sausage combo with the peppers and onions. Oh yeah it was great combo.

Made our own avocardo and prawn pizza for dinner last night, absolutly delicious! Dab of sweet chili sauce for the tang and some anchovies for the salt. Wash it down with a few bottles of home brew and thats may definition of a great Sunday night.

Back when I was serving in the Navy, I would order pizza when the food the cooks prepared wasn't fit for human consumption (which was often). Usually a 3 topping with sausage, mushroom, and extra cheese. Now my favorite is the all meat pizzas.

This is really a question for the people down under: The wife and I were watching the morning news the other day when they put up their daily trivia note. It said that the #1 pizza topping in Australia was EGGS!?! Not what I wanted to hear at 5:30 A.M. with my morning coffee! Just curious as to how these eggs are prepared before putting on the pizza: Raw? Fried? What other ingredients such as sauce, cheese, etc. do you use?

My personal preference: Marinara or tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, onions, green bell peppers, and maybe a little pineapple once in a while.

How about everyone else?

Well, I can tell you that the eggs would be whisked thoroughly before being poured on the pizza. Where I worked, it would be poured on last. It usually went on what we called the Aussie Bacon and Egg, which consisted of Tomato sauce, onions, egg and bacon bits. I haven't worked in fast food for several years, but I remember the job fondly.

My favourite at the time was a modified butcher's block with almost every kind of meat including prawns, and topped with pineapple and hollandaise sauce. So filling. So delicious. If there was such a thing as a food coma, you wouldn't wake up from this one.
