Have you ever installed one of these re-coated drums? Typically my used drum cores look a lot worse than the ones in the videos. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Is it true that you can cover a nick with clear nail polish?
Only 20 years ago on machines like the Mita DC-121, DC-122, DC-131, DC-133R that did not use a drum cleaning blade. They used a cleaning corona wire. There was no physical contact during the cleaning process, consequently no problem with that lump of nail polish. The waste toner was drawn back into the developing unit and recycled. No waste toner collected.
If you try it on a machine with a drum cleaning blade it will leave a donut shape of waste toner around the nail polish lump, and eventually a streak when the drum blade wears in one area. I hated to lose that trick ... but it just doesn't work any more. =^..^=

Yes, as long as the coating is thin enough and properly applied so as not to interfere with cleaning, else you run the risk of having the cleaning blade catch the polish and shear off some more of the drum's surface.
Source: did it to a drum from an MP2400W Wide Format Ricoh printer the first time I changed the drum on that behemoth. Accidentally dropped it and was maybe 3 months into my career, on a secure location (hydro dam being constructed) approx. 1 hr from shop. The trailer happened to be full of a bunch of beautiful women, so naturally I assumed one of them might have some, and as luck had it I was correct.
Polish was applied and it left visible marks for the first 50 feet of paper or so, but after it had a chance to settle in properly you couldn't tell at all, and it still applied toner and cleared it off as though there was no damage in the first place.
Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil?
