Re: Share something about your daily commute.

I think my commute is worse. After leaving my parking lot and entering traffic, I make a left turn to the end of my street to a stop sign, then a right turn to a traffic light, then a left turn onto the only highway going through town, and then a last right turn to arrive at my office. Worst 3 minutes of my life too!

The worst part of my short little 3 minute commute to work right now is this horrid humidity and heat I have to subject myself to for brief moments....someone tell mother nature it's supposed to be autumn here in Texas!

I drive across town, drop a kid off at middle school, then back to the other side of town to drop 3 kids off at grade school, then back to the other side of town to come to the office. It'd be a lot easier if schools started at different times, but noooo. By the time I get to work I'm ready for some quiet time.

I'd gladly trade? It's been nothing but crap weather here. Already dipping around 50 degrees Fahrenheit in preparation for snow fall. Leaves are changing colours, Autumn is surely here... But lots of rain that we didn't get in spring/summer of course.

You think 3 months of 52 degree weather is horrible? Try 8 months of snow with temperatures dropping to -40. With that kind of heat, the worst thing that would happen would be a fluctuation of forest fires, but who doesn't like the smell of bonfire and barbecue?

    3 minutes?

The best time I've ever done on that particular 56 miles is 80 minutes. That was a Sunday night after 2 AM. Daily average 100 minutes.

During a snowstorm 2 years ago it took me 4 hrs 30 minutes to do that same 56 miles. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    -

I'm 14 miles from the office and in the mornings it takes me anywhere from 45min to an hour, looks a lot like this for the last 5 miles.

Ctl-alt-del , that's why I moved out of the Puget Sound area. Damn, remember crossing the floating bridge before they rebuilt it. Ya, the one that sunk. Reversable lanes. freaking hour drive to go 10 miles. Crazy.

Here's a video on how to break up a shockwave traffic jam. Where everyone is slowly advancing forward and hitting their brakes to avoid a rear end collision. The solution? Stop moving forward and leave enough space where you don't have to hit your brake, AKA a safe driving distance.

I drive through a round-a-bout (or traffic circle or whatever you want to call them) that has traffic lights.

I start at 8.30am, leave home about 8.15, stop for coffee and usually open the shop up around 8.25 at the latest. The entire drive runs from north to south along the foreshore which always makes for a nice sunrise over the islands.
