I realize the post was humourous, but on a serious note, there are a few things that could be 3d printed with reasonable success - sensor flags are one that come to mind immediately, gears are a close second.

Noooooooooooooo, I remember having a huge box full of paper manuals in the back of my car, and having parts catalogues on micro fiche I much prefer electronic manuals

In the past, I have worked on some equipment where even the service manuals were on micro fiche.

But you don't have to wait for a slow laptop to load and they still worked with flat batteries
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

The really old machines were OK where the paper manual was quite small, but towards the end I was carrying a huge folder with me under my arm, it did take some getting used to at first, but laptops are much better IMO, and I carry the mains lead, so flat batteries are never a problem

With the number of different equipment that I occassionally have to work on, it could take 15 to 20 minutes just to find the corrrect manual without the laptop, not to mention the size of trailer I would need to carry everything.
