I had the "specialist" with me on a Xerox 5028 that kept blowing the main pwb. We found the wall current out of spec so the specialist shut machine down and trip the overheat fuse in the optics. Told customer machine was down until the power was corrected. 1 week later we went back out to the customer's location. Electrician and Business owner both onsite and not really happy. Specialist was asking how the electrician fixed wall power as it was now within spec. He claimed to run brand new dedicated line to machine. While talking to electrician he was bending a paper clip into a U shape and grabbing his insulted pliers. He jammed the paper clip into the plug and said that if that was so then the copier breaker was only thing to trip right!!! 2 minutes later the customers IT department is running into the room next to us. It seems some how the breaker to the windows nt 4 servers had been tripped and all 5 servers had crashed! The electrician had piggy backed off of the server room breaker and not run a new line like he said... It took 2 weeks to bring the servers back to life... A new electrical company came in and ran a dedicated line to copier and no problems since....
