I must agree that I am not really excited about any of the choices. I must confess that I am proud to be a Reagan Conservative. I miss the days of Reagan. I believe that he was one of the best presidents that we have had. I am proud to say that I am also a fiscal and social conservative.

Obama is way to the left. I have questions about his friends. A radical pastor, and a terrorist from the Weather Underground. Though, I can't say that is the way Obama feels, I was always told that a rotten apple can spoil the whole bushel. And besides that I am one of those people who cling to their guns and religion I believe that he would lead our country on the road to socialism.

Hillary, again is way to liberal for me. Besides we already know what she will do. We had eight long years of her. After all it may have been her husband who had the title, but she had the office. National health care. If that is so good why do people from countries that have it come to the US to get medical help?

McCain, what can I say. I respect him for his service to his country, but his standings on social issues, leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I believe that he is a republican in name only.

I still have not decided on who I am going to vote for. I may not decide until I get into the voting booth. All that I know is that I will vote, for that is what gives me the right to complain about things. My opinion is that if you don't vote, you do not have the right to complain about your elected officials!!

If anyone out there has any good reasons to vote for any of our choices, I would like to hear them.

    Relax, God IS in control!

I'll admit to being a -conservative- republican. There isn't any candidate that I can feel good about. I've been disenfranchised with the Republicans since Regan left office.

I'm thinking of voting for Ron Paul just to try and send a message to the Republicans that they need to change their ways. OR,...... we really need a split with the party with the creation of a new party, the Conservative Republicans.

I had hoped the damn Republicans would have woken up with the last elections, 2006, showing with them losing seats. But, it is just business as usual for them.

As far as I'm concerned, none of the democratic candidates has an honest bone in their body. For them, it is all politics and no solid principles. As for McCain, he is looks and sounds too much like a RINO and there are too many issues we diverge on.

    Ron Paul in 2008!

While I agree with many of Ron's ideas and leanings, if everything came to pass that he stands for we would be in for hellava wild ride.

We all know Americans are lazy and like others to think for them. Voting for your partyis the easy way out. Because the two parties have so much money, they can spend millions telling you what to think and that saves you a lot of time having to research the issues yourself. You have to have faith and believe, like when they come on TV and tell me how they cut taxes by billions of dollars, my paycheck never gets larger. Or when they say the other person raised taxes by billions of dollars, my paycheck never got smaller. We should do away with the party system, and make everyone run as an independant, that way we would have to really find out what they stand for. Or we could do it this way; since all of the canidates have lots of time in office, lets focus on what they have already done and not what they say they are going to do. Lets ask things like "what bills did you put forth that protect children, lower crime, make schools better, improve the enviroment or made us safer or our lives better. They all have had enough time to have amassed a long list of deeds, why are we not hearing about them. I am a firm believer that people control thier future. If your life sucks then it is most likely your fault. With that in mind, If our political system is a mess then it's all of our fault. When one of the parties loose, the hardcore members will say its because they wern't hardcore enough . The far right thinks if they were even more conservitive, thats what would have changed the liberal way of thinking and make them vote thier way and the Dems think the same way. In closing, you should vote for me because I am the copy guy and liberals, conservitives and pagans love me when I walk into a room.

So CMB, are you going to answer the question?

On a serious note, I don't envy you in the US where your political process is so contrived and artificial.

Whoever wins the election, however, is guaranteed to be a politician.

Obama was 'quite religious in Islam'

"From my experience I knew the good character of most Muslims and the value that they bring to America. Many, who did not personally know Muslims, indicted the entire religion for the bad actions of a few; my experience taught me that this was something foolish and unwise." Barck Hussein (TAQIYA!)

It defies logic that the leading Democrat candidate for President could possibly be part Muslim at a time when Islam vows to destroy the West.No matter what your party affiliation, the implications are staggering. He studied the Koran, he knows what's in the book.

I have been writing about this for a year. Obama engages in taqiya everyday. The truth is irrefutable. Obama plans to convene a Muslim summit to address their grievances should he become President. What grievances. Osama's? Ahmadinijad's? When Obama talks to our enemies what will he say?

Obama was 'quite religious in Islam' Aaron Klein, WND

Contemporaries, records dispute campaign claim that he was never 'practicing Muslim'

JERUSALEM – Was Sen. Barack Obama a Muslim? Did he ever practice Islam?

The presidential candidate officially rejects the claims, but the issue of Obama's personal faith has re-emerged amid conflicting accounts of his enrollment as a Muslim during elementary school in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation.

Widely distributed reports have noted in January 1968, Obama was registered as a Muslim at Jakarta's Roman Catholic Franciscus Assisi Primary School under the name Barry Soetoro. He was listed as an Indonesian citizen whose stepfather, listed on school documents as "L Soetoro Ma," worked for the topography department of the Indonesian Army.

Catholic schools in Indonesia routinely accept non-Catholic students, but exempt them from studying religion. Obama's school documents, though, wrongly list him as being Indonesian.

After attending the Assisi Primary School, Obama was enrolled – also as a Muslim, according to documents – in the Besuki Primary School, a public school in Jakarta.

The Loatze blog run by an American expatriate in Southeast Asia who visited the Besuki school, noted, "All Indonesian students are required to study religion at school and a young 'Barry Soetoro' being a Muslim would have been required to study Islam daily in school. He would have been taught to read and write Arabic, to recite his prayers properly, to read and recite from the Quran and to study the laws of Islam."

Hmmmmmmmm, why did he change his name back to Barack Hussein?

Indeed, the Israel Insider online magazine points out in Obama's autobiography, "Dreams From My Father," he acknowledges studying the Quran and describes the public school as "a Muslim school."

"In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell mother I made faces during Quranic studies," wrote Obama.

The Indonesian media have been flooded with accounts of Obama's childhood Islamic studies, some describing him as a religious Muslim .

Speaking to the country's Kaltim Post, Tine Hahiyary, who was principal of Obama's school while he was enrolled there, said she recalls he studied the Quran in Arabic.

"At that time, I was not Barry's teacher but he is still in my memory" claimed Tine, who is 80 years old. The Kaltim Post says Obama's teacher, named Hendri, died.

"I remember that he studied 'mengaji (recitation of the Quran)," Tine said, according to an English translation by Loatze.

Mengaji, or the act of reading the Quran with its correct Arabic punctuation, is usually taught to more religious pupils and is not known as a secular study.

Also, Loatze documented the Indonesian daily Banjarmasin Post caught up with Rony Amir, an Obama classmate and Muslim, who describe Obama as "previously quite religious in Islam."

"We previously often asked him to the prayer room close to the house. If he was wearing a sarong (waist fabric worn for religious or casual occasions) he looked funny," Amir said.

The Los Angeles Times, which sent a reporter to Jakarta, quoted Zulfin Adi, who identified himself as among Obama's closest childhood friends, stating the presidential candidate prayed in a mosque, something Obama's campaign claimed he never did.

"We prayed but not really seriously, just following actions done by older people in the mosque. But as kids, we loved to meet our friends and went to the mosque together and played," said Adi.

Obama's official campaign site has a page titled "Obama has never been a Muslim, and is a committed Christian." The page states, "Obama never prayed in a mosque. He has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ."

But the campaign changed its tune when it issued a slightly different statement to the Times stating Obama "has never been a practicing Muslim."

    Taqiya!

An article last month by the Chicago Tribune seems to dispute Adi's statements to the L.A. Times. The Tribune catches up with Obama's declared childhood friend, who now describes himself as only knowing Obama for a few months in 1970 when his family moved to the neighborhood. Adi said he was unsure about his recollections of Obama

But the Tribune found Obama did attend mosque.

"Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia," states the Tribune article.

It quotes the presidential candidate's former neighbors and 3rd grade teacher recalling Obama "occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers."

Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum, notes the Tribune article – cited by liberal blogs as refuting claims Obama is Muslim – actually implies Obama was an irregularly practicing Muslim and twice confirms Obama attended mosque services.

In a free-ranging interview with the New York Times, Obama described the Muslim call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.â€

The Times' Nicholos Kristof wrote Obama recited, "with a first-class [Arabic] accent," the opening lines of the Muslim call to prayer.

Israel Insider's Reuven Koret notes the first few lines state:

"Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that Muhammad is his prophet... "

Some attention also has been paid to Obama's paternal side of the family. His father, described in some reports as an atheist, polygamist and alcoholic, was buried in Kenya as a Muslim. Obama Sr., also named Barack Obama, had three sons with another woman who reportedly all are Muslim.

Obama's brother Roy is described as a practicing Muslim.

Writing in a chapter of his book describing his 1992 wedding, the presidential candidate stated: "The person who made me proudest of all was Roy. Actually, now we call him Abongo, his Luo name, for two years ago he decided to reassert his African heritage. He converted to Islam, and has sworn off pork and tobacco and alcohol."

Still, Obama says he was raised by his Christian mother and repeatedly has labeled as "smears" several reports attempting to paint him as a Muslim.

When Tony Blair was in office here he said he used to study the Koran and he never turned out a baddie. Mind you he also went to Catholic churches which was seen as a much more newsworthy story.

    CMB,

If you would like to debate actual issues, I would be happy to take you on. Its good to get the brain going on something other then corrupt print drivers and worn rollers every so often. But if you just want to post some "cut and paste" half truths and lies then I will choose not to play along. Your last post is just about the biggest bunch of crap I have seen since I last watched FOX News (last weekend).

If we were to believe what you copied from somewhere else then Barack Obama decided way back when he was in elementary school in Jakarta to be a super dedicated Muslim. But at the same time he knew that If the world found about is ties to Islam he could never become a US Senator or possibly even the President of the United States so he decided to pretend to be a Christian just so he could achieve his goal of forcing everyone into Islam.

Dude, if you honestly believe that then you are really off the deep-end. I don't know about you but when I was in elementary school my main concern was scoring a Reggie Jackson baseball card. Really, the kid was going to school in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Go back and re-read the article you copied, really read it, it doesn't really say anything. For example this gem of modern journalism:
But the Tribune found Obama did attend mosque.

"Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia," states the Tribune article.

It quotes the presidential candidate's former neighbors and 3rd grade teacher recalling Obama "occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers."
Holly shit, you telling me that when he was 8 or 9 he went to church, oops, mosque with his step-father. What is this world coming to?
