    Indies and insurance

There's another thread about benefits. Thought I'd start one about indies, who have no benefits.

What are you guys doing about insurance?

I'm on state insurance right now... which means benefits are great, IF you can find a doctor. If things pick up, I can probably get some insurance, but every time I look at the prices, they go up.

    Re: Indies and insurance

I work for a small company with no benefits.. I recently signed up for one of the new healthcare market plans, it includes dental and vision as well. I haven't used it yet, but as long as I'm in network I should be fine. If they ever get rid of the subsidy, I'll probably have to drop it all together.

I would think independents might be able to join thru some kind of group plan, I don't know.. I can only imagine it's harder for the indy guys.

There are sort of group options out there, but if you have a family, you are screwed.
