It's how you deal with failure that determines how you achieve success.

Over here, in the states, there's a crap load of hell being raised over these things. Most of our states do not use these traffic cameras for speed detection (I think California does), but for running red lights. Slowly over the years, more and more municipalities have put these cameras up. And with more and more up, more and more people have been getting screwed by them. At the same time they quickly find that the companies violate our "due process" and there was nothing you could do about it.

The state I live in, Mississippi, just recently voted the cameras to be unconstitutional. I think Minnesota just had a judge rule the same, a few months earlier, and forced the cities that had the cameras to repay the citizens all the tickets that were issued. If you received a ticket and payed it, the city that the supposed violation took place has to pay you back! If I remember correctly, it was just over a million dollars or so that the cities had to pay back from these stupid cameras.

Two reasons these cameras are crap... First, as I said before, most our camera over here monitor red light violators. Were everyone is getting screwed is making a "right on red turn". State law says that you must come to a complete stop, making sure that traffic is clear, then proceeding through. This is were the problem lye's. The traffic company issues a ticket if you do not stop for more than 5 seconds. No one was informed of this, nor were the laws updated to reflect it. This leads to the second issue... Since you actually did nothing wrong, you shouldn't have to pay the ticket. Worse thing that would happen, if a real person had given you the ticket, was show up at court and it would be thrown out. Not in this case! You can ask the company to review the video, but none that I know of have been amended. At this point, you have to pay $120 for a hearing!! You have to actually pay the company to allow you some form of due process!!! And that is not even in front of a judge. Just company lawyers and company officials. From there, if you still want to fight it, you have to hire a lawyer and take them to court. Sorry, but that is not due process!!

While in action, here in MS, our attorney general, ruled early on to change these violations issued by the camera companies as "Civil Violation" and not "Moving Violations". This meant that when you got a ticket, it did not affect your insurance. But if you did not pay the ticket, it would affect your credit. This since you were not paying the money to the city from which the violation took place, but the camera company. But still... anytime someone or something (a city or municipality) claims any sort of violation has been committed, the victim is always entitled to due process. Since these company's are privately owned company's and not government agencies, they cannot offer that.

Anyway... their crap, rubbish, plain stupid!!

The first law states that energy is conserved: The change in the internal energy is equal to the amount added by heating minus the amount lost by doing work on the environment.
