Do you stop work for lunch?

Where I work half stop, I don't, prefer to work thru and take early days or time off, it's never questioned.

Company position is to always take scheduled breaks. Probably an OSH thing.
I'm seldom right, but I'm never wrong.

I am not clocked or tracked in any way. Sometimes I work through, if I am very busy. If I am slack in calls I may sit somewhere and chill for a while. It all evens out in the end. I very rarely eat anything big during the day. Eating and driving don't count.

Lunch stops at our place are suggested to be taken by the powers that be, although it is unoficially frowned upon. Their stance is you could probably make another call in that hour / half hour, but they can't legally say you can't have a lunch. They would if they could tho!

We hired a new office manager a few years back. She requires us to take an hour lunch. Before that lunch was the drive thru between calls.

If I am at a call that takes place during that hour, no. If I am between calls, at some point around noon, I will stop and have a cup of coffee and whatever, read a paper. It really depends on how busy I am.

I always stop for lunch, and I almost always have a full lunch (dish+desert+coffee). What I do instead of skipping lunch because I'm at a call is to postpone it - if I can't have lunch at 13h, I'll have it later when I finish my call.

I hope you're not having 2 starches per meal at those lunches

Well, in fact I always enjoy eating french fries and rice together - it happens more often than not.

I work from 8 to 5 with an unpaid hour for lunch. Ain't no way I'm working through lunch without pay.

Funny that you should mention it. I take my lunch when driving between calls. It just seems like a colossal waste of time to sit around for an hour. The rest of the day is ruined after that. All my momentum is lost. There never really seems to be time for such a leisurely lunch. =^..^=
