    Ricoh mpc 2000 - SC553

    hi
Someone who has really solved the problem sc553 without necessarily having to replace the unit full merger?
I saw where the post is not about problem solved.
    thanks

It says the heating roller reached more than 230c for 1 sec, so the software makes this error.

Try updating the firmware, clean the thermistors, and adjust the power timings, and check that no one adjusted the temperature above standards in the SP settings.

It can also be the heating lamp that has internal shorts in the "glowing wire", so it's too hot. It's a lamp, just like when you kick a bulb, it lights stronger just before it dies...

I could think of a problem of some component of the unit fusion, whereas the same installed it on another copier and I created the same problem at power. The thermistors are new.

Also, see what the customer is running. If they are running super long jobs with thicker or 11x17 sheets, probably over 100, that could be your problem too. These smaller machines aren't made to keep up with that sort of demand.

    Also, Turn fusing idling on.

Also, if the machine is by a cold air output (Air Conditioning vent) or next to a door where cold air comes in, I have seen this cause this issue as well.

Hey looks like your on to something there, just open up the fuser unit and test the components inside, sounds like maybe a thermoswitch is open.

I remember that the Thermistor sensor on the pressure rollers, use to sepperate from the metal lip that is touching the roller, causing it to measure wrong temperatures, check if that has happened.

This fuser is very much like the fuser in MPC3300 units. A SC553 typically meant one of the dual lamps for the heat roller was open or perhaps a thermofuse popped. I would give those a check.

Consider that I opened the fuser unit tested components, replaced: thermopile, thermistor and tested lamps and thermostats. I have two copiers from clients with the same problem.
