Ricoh MP C5502. Fuser error after new install of sleave.

Okay. the infamus fuser error after a new sleave was installed. How do I access the tech mode on these? Reset, 1, 0, 7, Clear will not work. Something to do with the enclosed fuse? Where does this fuse go? Can't find it's location. I believe this resets the fuser....??...or opens the tech mode?
I need to know where the new enclosed fuse is installed and how to access tech mode as well. First time with one of these boxes. Did I open a can of worms??.. Help would be greatly apreciated. -Steve

Fuse sits in the fuser itself, take off top cover and its top left. We have some in the field and I've made a little switch box to fool the fuser into thinking it has a new fuse as if you install a new sleeve and fuse but it errors in some way, it'll want a whole new fuse and they are not spared.

I thought the new SP access sequence started with the CXX03. Try both being sure to hold down the Clear button, on some machines I have had to hold as much as 6 seconds. If neither sequence works, someone may have changed it. You will then need to contact your regional support specialist and get the factory SP mode access code. .

If you are replacing sleeve on an original production run fusing unit, the fuse was not installed. Ricoh wanted you to order an entire fusing unit with the fuse installed. If this is the case, you will find a connector with nothing plugged into it. Make all needed repairs to the fusing unit and then enter SP and reset the code. If it codes again there is still a problem and you will need another fuse. That is why some people like jhalfhide have set up a switch box. So far I have been lucky and have not had to repair one of these fusing units after an error code. I have replaced a few sleeves but only due to PM cycle or damage to the surface of the sleeve making marks on the prints. As a result, I am building a collection of fuses.

I have this as the new models service mode in the notes on my phone.

As you said, initial fusers had no fuse. My first problem was a nipped voltage cable shorting out on the chassis from where the black top cover had snapped shut on it. This is why I needed the fuse switch box as I wasn't replacing the sleeve. Just repaired the cable and refit.

Make sure that the code is on the screen before doing the code reset. If it's not, it will blow the fuse and wont reset the code. Do not close the doors if that code is not on the screen while the new fuse is in.

If you installed a new sleve unit, then the fuse is in the box you tossed away. It's taped to the bottom of the sleeve's card board box. Check the trashcans :-D

I have the fuse. I couldn't locate where it goes. I've had the fuser apart several times. Can find the connector. I also am having a hard time getting into service mode. Some conflicting replies on that. Can you tell me the exact procedure to enter tech mode?
