Ricoh MP C 430 DN "accidental" Memory clear (001 All Clear)

    Hey there.

My Boss "accidentally" cleared the complete memory with [5801-001 All Clear].

Now i am trying to get the printer back to work, as there is an offset in Y.

I performed [3011-001 to 005 Process Cont. Manual Exec.]

001-003 worked, but the MUSIC setting (which is the line adjustment, right?) always fails, no matter if performed normal or full.

Any ideas what i have to do, to get the printer back to work properly?

You need to perform line position adjustments. see page 130 of service manual.

Check for the "bible" hidden under the front cover and reprogram to those defaults.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

    There is nothing there.

None of these work, not even the rough line position adjustment.

It might be too far off for automatic adjustment to work. You might have to do a manual line position adjustment to get it close. You also need to clean the Image Density sensor first.

Else known as the "birth certificate".

Just a fun fact... that page is almost, if not a;lways, A4 size, as it is printed at the factory in Japan.

I once used that to my advantage when it had inadvertently gotten mixed in with a punch of est (letter size) test pages. Made it easier to find.

I have to ask. How did your boss "accidentally" do an all clear? I'd tell him the machine is junk since there no bible. That'll learn 'em. I always make sure every machine has a bible. If it's missing just go into Sp print out and print the default settings. That's all the bible is. You CAN do the registration manually. The procedure is in the book. You need a loupe and a bunch of patience but it can be done, even if all SP auto adjustments fail.

I have done them before on a couple of Aficio 2238C. First time took about 6 hours. After the first one you get a idea as to how to proceed and can get it down to 2 hours or less to get it to where SP 2111 will pull it the rest of the way into alignment.
