    ricoh 6513 - no power

    I have a 6513 with no power

I have 110 volts to both the AC drive board and the PSU

    I cannot find fuse FU301
    I do not have 5v at CN13-1

We had a service tech out a while back. Before he arrived, the machine would at least power up and display codes, but not after he left.

    Can anyone help ??

I would try taking out the fuser unit and then power uo the machine. I say this because theres lots of cabling on the rear end of the fuser, maybe some one trapped with a gear.

    What connection does CN13-1 control?
What kind of codes was the machine displaying?

I had one that acted similar (with power present but acted somewhat dead) and it ended up being the NVRAM.

It took us quite a while to diagnose this. Once it was replaced, the machine fired up. But, it required a trip from the regional service tech to input in the serial #, etc.

Also, I wonder if there is a pinched wire somewhere that is shorting out.

Take this as an opportunity to upgrade the customer (sorry, couldn't help myself)

Call the tech back or call another company.
If you don't have the P2P schematic leave it to a trained tech.
I don't have meter leads long enough to troubleshoot your problem.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

    update:

    I have the p2p schematic
What I need is the schematic for the power supply board.

5ohm resistor R5 is open, no fuses blown
I have disconnected all output circuits from the power supply board, and it still cooks R5.
none of the components on the board are testing shorted

    any help is appreciated

V=IR, P=IV, ELI the ICE man, etc. good luck and try not to accidentally discharge a 1000uf cap with your meter (don't wear a ground strap!).

Personally, I find component level troubleshooting intriguing (sp?), but my time is worth more than the cost of the PSU.
