Exclamation Reoccuring Set Drum Message MPC2800

I have been dealing with this issue of set drum messages for the black PCU. I have replaced the black PCU and the problem stayed the same. I checked the condition of the terminal that the drum plugs into on the rear frame and it is in apparently very good shape. I was there on 9/16/15 and I reseated the connectors on the IOB and the BICU board and the problem went away from the 16th until this afternoon when I got a call from the customer that the message had returned. I'm really at wits end and could use some help on this.
    Thanks all.

CN227 on the IOB is where the PCUs connect to. Pins A1 to A8 are the black unit. I would look for a loose solder joint or bad cable, PN D0295301.

When you reseated the connections on the IOB and BICU did you make sure to reroute the wire harnesses into their proper positions? Could possibly be a pinched wire causing the issue. You mentioned that you replaced the PCU with a new unit already and the issue stayed? Yet was working fine until recently? I'd start with checking my harnesses for any damage or pinches.

Are you using modified drums or using original part number drums ?

If using modified drum units make sure the TD senor was original and/or wires are crossed over into the correct position.

Maker sure you have removed/filed enough off the RJ-45 connector and that you have not pushed the RJ-slot out of the back of the machine.

Re: Reoccuring Set Drum Message MPC2800

I appreciate all the feed back I've received on this so far. I'm going to go ahead and order an IOB board, the harness and also the HV Power Pack which tech support recommended. And we shall see if any of this makes a difference.

The PCU that I replaced however was a new drum and non-modified so we should be good as far as that goes. I wanted to go ahead and replace the female RJ connector for the black PCU but I was unable to find that part #. If anyone knows that can you pass it along?

Thanks once again for your input.

If you are talking about the machine side connector, I think you have to replace the entire drive unit. Major job.

From looking at the point to point, I think they might be part of the harness assembly.

I had this exact problem, after replacing several parts I ended up replacing the entire wiring harness for the rear of the machine , that was what fixed my problem hope this may help.
