    Ricoh 2020D shading on back of copies

    Hello!
    I have a older 2020D with a image problem. On the lead edge ( back of copies) is a half inch shaded band. This only happens on the first copy. The rest are perfect! New durm/blade, new fuser and transfer roller...

    My guess is that it has been some time since you last replaced the transfer roller, if ever. The shaded band is the first revolution of the transfer roller against the paper. It is toner built up on the surface of the roller. As Mongo said, turning on SP 2996 will turn on transfer roller cleaning cycle, but may take some time for the roller to clean completely. Replacing the transfer roller will eliminate it immediately. Turn on SP 2996 to keep the new roller from getting dirty.
