Problem "Solved", switched MP C 2003 with MP C 3002 and no more dark problem...

Driver advanced setting (I think somewhere under the quality options) > color profile - > set everything to "color laser printer simulation" and compare the results

    Re: MPC2003 printing Dark

Well we tried all these settings and our conclusion is that the controller is weak, the image treatment is bad...

The MPC 3003 controller is a lot more powerfull, the treatment is better.

    Re: MPC2003 printing Dark

I had a customer with the same problem. The solution support from Ricoh tell me i should reduce the tonerlevel. But that was not helpful.
The other things like firmware update and switch drivers couldnīt change it also.
By a copy the mistake was also, but less.

So i change the gamma in the tech mode. That was the first time I did it but it was working.

We made it for a other ricoh company and they take the risk. Ricoh official said that was a bad idea but the systeam run since 8 month with no mistakes.

I see, it's a solution for the "dark" prints, but it still doesn't solve the obvious lack of details when you print some jpeg pics, even in 1200 dpi.

I hope the next 2004 will not share the same trouble.

reducing toner level is not a good suggestion from ricoh since the max density on recent model is quite poor as well - fiddling with gamma curve/driver is indeed a better idea for this issue.
