MP 3352 SP, strange image issue

Hi, machine is nearly brand new (10k printouts), for some time the are probmes with print quality. Printouts are full of stripes, and letters are shredded. The are even on SMC report! I upgraded all firmware (twice), replaced HDD, RAM, nvram, printer/scaner SD card, polygon but nothing changed. Could it be controller board?

Check tranfer roller for worn gear. There is also a RTB (RD120056) for it wich deals with SC401.

It doesn't look to me like transfer roller problem, but like some kind of interferences during image processing. Stripes are too clear and regular, and not always the same. I also haven't noticed SC 401.

Drum Shutter verifies this causes distortion when the sheet passes through the drum.

You replaced a lot of stuff, but there's no mention of a PCU. I've had a few very strange image issues over the years with this family of machine and replacing PCU resolved it.

As to your question about the controller, yes. I wish they still had the Detailed Description section in the service manuals so you copuld look at the data path and see which boards data moved through.

It DOES look like "noise" from the controller.

That looks like an IPU issue to me. Either that or RAM (which you said you replaced already). It is too regular and too clear to be mechanical in nature.

Agree this "digitized-shreddered" error seems to be some corrupted data on the image path - perhaps memory dimm.

I've had this with dirty contacts on a controller dimm before
