Used SR3030 attached to MP C5501

Hi, I bought used SR3030 finisher for client to work with MP C5501. Every single sheet of paper jams (stops) at the finisher entry. I read on the forum that this may be due a wrong firmware on finisher. I searched on my-ricoh.com and there is no firmware for SR3030, only technical bulettins. If someone could send me fwu files for SR3030 maybe from TSRC?

Check out bulletin B805-004R. I deals with compatability with newer models.

Well, i found it but on "my-ricoh" it's called RB805003a. It seems that the firmware will not be needed. Thanks a lot!

I have seen with the SR790 where the lower entry guide plate has been bent up enough to bind against the in-feed roller. Usually the result of someone using it as a lift point. I haven't seen it on the SR 3030, but still worth a look see.

Well, I replaced 3 parts mentioned in RTB, but nothing changed. There is always jam at finisher entry. I checked finisher in service mode, and both entry rollers motor and photosensor are OK.
On a finisher board there are numbers B804551 and B8045122. Finisher firmware is B8045552H. Any idea? As I said there is no firmware aviable for SR3030 on my-ricoh.

Check the serial number of the SR 3030. If it is after L9618000664~ then it should have the newer style CPU on the finisher PCB. If it does and the firmware is B8045552N or before, the PCB is toast and will need to be replaced. See TSB B804-006. Firmware for the new style PCB was never released to the field in order to prevent loading it to the old style PCB.

Serial number starts with L9607801.... it must be older PCB

The bulletin that you posted was TSB B805-004 not TSB B805-004R. The revised bulletin changed the part number for the sensor harness to B8045421.

You say that the jam is at the finisher entry. How far into the finisher has it gotten or does it stop before the finisher entry roller? I have had flaky sensors in the bridge unit cause a jam with the paper stopped just before the entry roller to the finisher.

Also do not depend on the service mode tests of sensors. Yes, if it shows a sensor bad, the sensor is bad, but a sensor that shows good in the static service test can still be bad in the it might not be responding fast enough. It only takes a fraction of a second delay for a jam to be registered.

Paper leaves bridge unit, and stops directly at the finisher entry rollers (when I move out finisher, paper just fall out from bridge unit). For about 15 seconds, there is an information "Processing..." on a display. After this time LCD displays "JAM 001". I replaced both entrance sensor and stepper motor, without effect. When it comes to bulletin, Ricoh changed me automatically the part number when ordering. Is firmware B8045552H not too old?

Sounds like those rollers aren't turning at all. You might clean the bushings for those rollers, on older finishers they had a tendency to fill up with black goo and stall the rollers. Maybe check that all the connectors on the finisher board are seated completely too.
Used to be if a person was fast enough, they could separate the finisher from the mainframe except for the cable, then as a piece of paper came out of the bridge unit they could stick another piece of paper into the finisher entrance and see what happened. I don't recommend doing that though as it would be really easy for a careless person to get hurt.
