Whats the main difference between the Ricoh aficio MP4000, MP4000B and MP4001 ?
The MP 4000 and MP 4000B are the same series of machine with the main difference being the MP4000 is able to scan in colour. There are a few firmware differences as well to account for the difference in the optics.
The MP 4001 is the successor model to both.
Literally the only difference in the MP4001 is that it comes standard with a VM card and App2Me.
The 4000B does not have any options, it can only copy. Your regular MP4000 will at the very least have print/scan features.

This not completely correct. They have different BICU (controller) boards, different SBU and a few other parts are different. Printing and scanning can be added to the 4000B but requires the installation of a HDD, the Print/Scan option kit includes the HDD. The 4000 has color scanning. The 4000B does not due to different BICU and SBU.
