    Cheers for that Kannuki, it pointed me in the right direction.
    It wasn't the wires mentioned in the RTB but the loom for the shift motor next to it. In a good light you could see that there was a patch of bare copper.
    Managed to get my hands on a third MP C6502 and did some board by board cross checking and discovered that not only did I have a blown fuse on the DUB (Draw unit board) I had a faulty Paper Feed Board as well.
    It seems that swapping boards between copiers without removing the short first had fried my spare ones as well. A long drawn out process but I got there in the end with help from my CTN mates. Now I have to explain to the boss why I needed to buy another $500 worth of boards to solve the problem.

    BTW Kannuki meter read is 172980 colour and 88313 B&W
    At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.
