The Pro C5100s can handle 300 gms through the bypass but only as a cover sheet. The best I can see to actually print on is 256 gms on the Pro 5100s and 110 gms on everything else through the LCIT. Pro 8100s will also do 300 cover through the LCIT and 256 cover through trays 1-3.

    Dear Sir,

Does it mean Ricoh does not have any kind of machine that can handle 350gsm? Also could you please confirm Pro C901+ can do this?

    Regards

    Re: PRODUCTION PRINTER

Only machine that I have seen do above 310gsm is what you will get with most production models is the Xerox Color 800/1000i (350gsm). I recently saw the Xerox Color 1000i (Same as the 800 according to the brochure) in action for a customer who was looking at replacing their current solution due to increased media variations. The Xerox Color 1000i was able to produce exactly what the customer needed it for. We also looked at the Ricoh C5100s (256gsm), Ricoh C7100 (300gsm), Konica Minolta C71 (300gsm), Konica Minolta C1100 (350gsm). The print samples of the customer files were noticeably different. While the KM C1100 was able to do a 350 gsm only out of the Bypass Tray, the downfall was not being able to duplex from there. The difference in the prints comes down to the Resolution DPI and we noticed that the models varied from 1200 x 3600 to 1200 x 4800 and only one had a true 2400 x 2400 DPI and that was the Xerox Color 1000i. The black on the Ricoh C7100 and KM C1100 was not as "rich" on the coated stock of 300gsm. On the samples of just monochrome all models produced prints in "excellent" condition, now on the samples of heavy color coverage of mostly cyan on 12 x 18 coated 350gsm long grain, the samples looked in "excellent" condition as well. Compared to our original prints from the current Ricoh C900 on 11 x 17 coated 256gsm. Do some research and get print samples of your own files and compare them.

    Hope this helps

The pro C7100 family will do 360 gsm from tray 4 in the lcit. The c901GA+ will do 350 gsm from trays 3 and 4 of the lcit. Both support duplex of 360/350 gsm respectivly.......

    Re: PRODUCTION PRINTER

Among the color production machines, the Pro C901+ will handle up to 350gsm through the LCT, the Pro C71xx will handle up to 360gsm through the vacuum feed LCT, and the Pro C91xx will handle up to 400gsm from any tray.

I've been working on the Pro C9110 for about a year and a half now, and my account with six of these boxes runs up to 16pt stock that's slightly more than 400gsm as well. I've also had decent success with 11pt (620gsm!) MagneCote magnetic stock in the C9110, and some success with it on the C71xx.

I can't speak to the B/W models, as I'm exclusively color production.

    Dear Sir,

Appreciate for your valuable reply. Could you please confirm can Pro C901+ only can handle 350gsm with LCT? Also considering the paper registration(when both side printing) how accurate is it?

    Thank you
