    MP 171 Access Control Range

I was asked to help a collegue setup an MP171 that he picked up for resale
I tried everything I could think of to get this unit to print.
I can ping it, but can't access the WIM.
I did a reset of system settings, a total memory clear. Printer reset in SP mode, etc.
    Nothing worked.
Then I finally noticed the Network control range settings at the bottom of the config page (see sample), and figured this must be my issue.
I've never run across this before, but I'm assuming that it was set to only work inside of these specific parameters.
It's easy enough to find where to make these settings on the WIM of another machine, but I can't access it on this one to delete them, and If there's a way to access it on the control panel, I wasn't able to find it .
Then I figured I could just connect my laptop directly, set a static IP within that range, and I'd be able to access the WIM...... but that wasn't the case.
I also tried to telnet in, (which I've never done before), and the connection wasn't able to be made to try and flush it.
Any ideas for me to get around this?

Note: Disregard the current interface settings. That's just where I left it, before I pulled out my last 7 hairs

    Thanks!

Did you check the setting for 802.1x ?

I had an MP 301 with that enabled. It drove me nuts until we found it.

Well I should have done a little more searching on here myself before posting. I did find this thread, which describes the exact issue I'm dealing with:
    Ricoh MP4500 config question
I did basically what was suggested (in the final post of the thread), as far as setting my laptop to within the range, but was unable to connect.
Maybe it was the subnet mask that was keeping me from doing so? I set it at 255.255.0.0 because that's what it always is when I have it connected directly to a machine, but I think I also tried 255.255.255.0?
    Maybe I shouldn't enter a Subnet?

Subnets on direct connection IP's without gateways should always be 255.255.255.0 unless Autonet is active. Pain in the arse.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Try clearing 5801-010 and 5801-011. This should reset all network settings to default.

Unfortunately, as I mentioned I was unable to access the machine via telnet either. I'm going to give it another go later.

I've just had a thought - what sort of MP171 is it?
