Is this a new machine or used? There is no default machine admin password, it has to be programmed when the machine is first setup. Try logging in with the username "supervisor" with no pass. You can use the supervisor log in to reset the admin password. If that doesn't work then you will have to ask whoever you bought the machine from.

Other option is to have a tech replace the nvram I think. Not cheap or desireable.

Sturmtrooper, we also tried "supervisor" with no luck.
NV ram seems to be the only way...

You can also try the serial number, or the last four of the serial number. That's what my shop uses some times. Also, get in contact with who you purchased it from and see what you can squeeze out of them.

We had a tech who used to set the password to the model of the machine, such as sp3410.

Not really, it's just a bit of a delicate operation. Also while you can copy all the SP mode settings to an SD card (at least you can on bigger machines, not sure about this one) and then upload them to the new NVRAM you will lose your current counter and be reset to zero on that. There is nothing you can do about that part.

Is there really no way for you to contact who you purchased the machine from to try and get the password from them?

I already did that, but I think the customar has changed it, and don't remember it. It is a machine that functions as a replaceable device, when an other printer is broke..., and it has been a long time now since that had happened...

    Try this:

    To reset WIM password:

User Tools, admin tools, reset settings, pg 4 of 5, reset network settings

I don't think he is talking about WIM password but the machine administrator account password.
