    Mpc3300 exit motor jam

Anyone seen this jam? Exit motor jam, N service mode shows up under jams at 166 , exit motor jams. Of course works great when I'm at client.

Does the machine have a bridge unit and/or finisher installed on it ?
If so, you may like to disable/remove the redundant exit tray-full-sensor "plug" off the tray-full sensor. The now redundant sensor becomes dusty and can flag intermittent errors...

Is that plug located on the finisher or bridge or is it located on the machine itself at the exit going into the bridge?

    Re. Sensor location:
On the machine itself. The sensor is on the end of the exit-full lever that hangs down.
This is the lever that is folds out the away when you install the new bridge unit option.

Check the bushings in the exit unit. Heat from the fusing unit can cause them to seize.

    Hi there!
+1 slimslob. On the MPC 28/3300-range we had to change a lot of exit-units. On some machines is was impossible to turn the rollers by hand. At the beginning of the problems we changed the bushings and/or rollers, but it΄s an awful work. Better change the whole unit, in the end that΄s the cheaper way.
    Greetings...

You can now purchase the complete assy as a replaceable unit (Only took Ricoh 6 years)

A couple of drops of Kroil or Marvel Mystery Oil will penetrate in and free the bushing up. Still have to replace the bushing and shaft. Frequently the gear will round out and have to be replaced. A drop of silicon oil on each of the bushings when the fusing unit is PMed will prevent future problems.
