MPC305 - Jam J019 always when entering fuser

    Good afternoon.

Got a MPC305 that always jams with jam code 019 when paper is entering fuser (the paper enters the rollers and goes about 2mm inside before jamming).

    What I tried so far:

    - Exchanging fuser with another working machine (this fuser works on the other machine, the other fuser jams on this one)
    - Exchanging transfer roller (same results as above)
    - Exchanging fusing entrance sensor (same as above)
    - Exchanging fusing driving motor
    - Exchanging entire right door assembly
    - Exchanging transfer belt assy
    - Clearing engine SP settings

It happens from both trays and bypass, and no matter the paper size used.

If I cheat the interlock and make the fuser rotate on Output check, I can feed it paper sheets and they will happily go through.

    I think I didn't forget anything.

Now checking the latest firmware versions (I don't know if they're the latest, but they're definitely upper versions from the other machine that's working ok nearby).

    Please, any tips are welcome!

    Cheers!

I have had many strange jamming issues on these little 305's, one that springs to mind was this exact problem, I updated the firmware & after that the machine worked fine, the original fw was not even that far out of date, I also had it on another machine, I ended up removing & refitting all the connections on the back, it took a while but after that no issues.

    Thanks for the insight.

The problem miraculously went away after I replaced the fusing exit sensor - which is odd, because the paper never ever reached it, I can't see why the hell the broken sensor wouldn't give a jam while standing by, but would cause this one.

Going to assemble the beast and test it thoroughly, and will chime back if anything new comes up.

    5 hours lost... Oh well...

    Cheers!

The sensor could have been indicating the there was paper at the sensor when there wasn't. Are you sure that it was a J019 and not J020? According to the service manual, J019 is a registration late jam and J020 is the fusing exit late jam.

had a similar one recently. Customer hadn't called in a fault but it's a bit slack so off I went... Knocking noise - fuser gear worn out so I pulls the fuser out to confirm it & reseats it. Jam, jam, jam constantly on the entrance to the fuser?

Strips the fuser 4 times & it's still jamming, panicking now as it was working before I turned up.

cutting it short I reseated the transfer roller & it worked? Not got a clue why & I hadn't touched the tx roller either.

Positively sure (I took a pic of the log data, but can't find it now). Still baffled.
