PCU's and fuser are different, run ridiculously past PM life. Black PCU's usually run easily to 600k if the devs are replaced on life. Colours are about the same as the D029 and B224 in longevity. In my opinion the '01 family of this range are by far the best. I wish Ricoh had never stopped making them.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

    Replace the fusing parts @300K.
The only thing i didnt like about this series is the PTR easily gets broken by heavy handed users.

The OP would be best served replacing that part before he sends the machines out. Saves a lot of heartache. D089 4664, 65 and 66.

    thnx
    was the design/part modified ?
is it strictly a broken part issue or the PTR unit getting "stuck" ie like the mpc2050 series?

Bit of both really. If someone gets a bit slammy with the side door, the PTR assembly breaks where it clips into the door. The pin that holds it in was made again from metal and the PTR holder modified to carry it, with another metal bracket to the side of the PTR itself. Makes it stronger and much less likely to be smashed even by the best weapons-grade cretin.

i put out a lot of ricoh mpc2030 to mpc2551 lease returns and i point out the "weak points of design" when i demo machine, from the trays to the right side door
    and duplex gates.
most people get it,and then some dont..
and their lack of finesse costs them in the end.
