Using Black PCU's on all colours on MPC3003 to MPC6003's
Hey all,
Just wondering if any of you around the world have been using the K PCU's in all colours for the Metis MPC3003 to MPC6003 devices??
From what I can tell and have been advised.....
No modification is required, absolutely none as they fit like a glove although the waste drive gears look a little different, they mesh up the same and so does the drum
I also have been advised that there is no copy quality issues at all from early testing....
I will advise if something happens but for the time being things are looking good and as your all aware cost savings are massive
If anyone has feedback on this can you please provide
Thanks

Re: Using Black PCU's on all colours on MPC3003 to MPC6003's
I tried this and although it all looked fine at the beginning, after 10 k prints the waste toner in the pcu started to clog up behind the cleaning blade causing toner to contaminate the charge roller. The gears on the back of the up were also starting to look a bit worn so after cleaning it up a couple of times I eventually gave in and fitted a colour pcu.
So I am still looking for a cheaper solution!

There is a spring adjustment that has to be made on these PCUs when fitting them into anything above a c4503...I wonder if you do that, will it last longer? If they physically fit right in with no modifications then I'll give it a shot next time I have a machine that needs one.

the cheaper solution is to get a compatible charge unit and cleaning blade for these pcu. I wonder if the charge roller from c6502 or mpc7501 will fit?

The PM life is very good on these units, they easily go over without causing an issue, yes they are expensive but if you have an MPC3003 thats done 500k & not had any parts replaced you cant complain!

I used for mpc3003 black pcu on color units without problems, only the spring must be set according the machine.
No isue at all.
