hi
i have not seen this box in person but read issues wth the danm fuser flaws.
As i have not seen any MPC 3501 units with low meters would you go with a mpc3502?
or is it just a headache.
are the pcu units the same?
thanks in advance

They are good machines and you can use the B2242042 drums
Fusers wear earlier than stated depending on what paper / coverage!
With regard to the fuser, change the stripper plate with a fusing sleeve. They run a lot longer if you do.
thnx
i did see some posts on here with the fuser taking out the BICU brd.
That is I hope not an issue as
"popping boards" is one issue that would keep me away from both making money and keeping
accounts happy.
i just dont get why Ricoh has to change "THE WHEEL" all the time when the previous box worked fine...
Indeed. Also, as a precaution, change the fuser exit motor if the entrance guide has toner smeared on it. That can cause you all sorts of issues.
fshead: If you look at the fusing sleeve you will see it's not a traditional heat roller, it "floats" like the hp's. This machine will rum 300 gsm pretty easy, all due to the "floating" sleeve. We keep the scraper clean and, like others have said, change the fuser motor if the toner smears. You can get the SPC830dn fuser and swap the entire loom over to the new fuser. Comes with a transfer roller also.
I guess I've been lucky to not run into the motor problem yet, I have a fair number of those machines out. Does anyone have the part number handy for that motor?
Good machines, but... You need to be shure your customar is indicating thick paper if he uses it. If he doesn't, the fuser sleeve roller will wear (very) quickly. I've tried to rebuild the fusing unit, it didn't work, I still get the smear prints... Probably others will give you good advice about this replacement... Good luck.
