Sd card authentication error (mp c2550)

Guys, what is the possible solution when the machine has an SD AUTHENTICATION ERROR.Firmware upgrade does not resolve the issue. When I checked the display, there is no PRINTER FEATURES so printing is not possible. SC 866 is shown in the SC history.

If the SD card isn't a brand new printer card, it probably is defective.
If the SD card is new from Ricoh, I'm full of crap and I apologize.

You might have that reversed. If it is a brand new Print/Scan option SD card for the MP C2550 series, then it is bad. If it has been used in another machine, it is serial number number locked to that machine.

I have a similar problem in one of the machine my company has leased MP C3501. I am sure its the controller board as tried all other options but in vain. I have the following questions

1) Can this error be fixed by repairing the controller board as the client pays very less money depending on the click.
2) What could be the cause of this error. prior to this i had same error in almost 5 machines and replacing the controller board solved it.
3) Can I ask the client to procure as the damage to the board may be due to electrical supply. The power supply here in Nigeria can sometimes be awful and the machine is connected to 2KVA stabilizer and not UPS.(Note : Out of the three machines at the client site, only this one was affected)
4) Should I replace the controller board free for the client under lease agreement.

Need guidance from all you fellow members.

Under lease who needs to replace the controller board - customer or the service provider.

If they have a service contract, the service provider. If they do not, they pay. Lease or purchase the saying "You can pay me now or pay me later" still applies.
