Dirty or defective image sensor assembly. ITB slippage.

On some Metiseseses I've noticed they only like to run C then A. That's brand new, out of the box. If there's no colour registration issue then don't worry about it.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Re: Ricoh MP C2003 Color registration failed

In most cases cleaning MUSIC sensors is enough, after that do C setting first then A setting twice.
One of the other causes for Line positioning to fail is lighter density on one of the colors because of old developer,or dirty polygon motor mirror.
Gears, springs, clutches, sliders, connectors and electronics...who on earth can tell what's wrong with it?

I experienced this issue: install a new transfer belt unit and calibrate again. you can return the old one once it works fine,

+1 on all the comments above.

Also make sure that your toner levels are good, as low toner supply will cause low density (as said above) which can also cause failure.

Stupid question: How old is the machine?

You did check the ITB belt for wear or tears in the belt itself?
Clearly visible wear areas in line with the sensors will also cause line adjustment to fail.

Also check the belt surface for dings or dents in the belt surface as imperfections in the sensor areas (close the front, middle and rear of the belt) can cause LP failures.
    Press the GREEN button!!
