    MPC 8002 toner powder everywhere..

    Hi

I have a "new" MPC8002 Machine with 75k printed pages, i clean the whole machine every 2 month because tonner powder spots etc..
I know this type have lot of problems but i dont find any idea why the machine loose so much powder in relative short period.
In the service manual the preventive maintance is around 300 K but i already have the itb full of powder the transfer and also the fusing.
I don't have problem with the machine except the monthly cleaning, so any idea are welcome if help me to bring a longer time extension...
    Any advice?

Re: MPC 8002 toner powder everywhere..

    Hi everybody.

    I found my problem source
I loose toner on the sides of developer unit, it fill the side of the itb with powder and all the machine.

    [Front] p/n: D1363412 (SEAL DEVELOPMENT ROLLER:FRONT UPPER)
[Rear] p/n: D1363413 (SEAL DEVELOPMENT ROLLER: REAR UPPER)
I find the rtb with the procedure but only in the pro c5100 model i find it Document ID : RD137146 Troubleshooting Bk toner scattering from the dev unit side seals
I will do it also for the CYM developer unit the same procedures
    IMAG0714.jpg and the procedure seal.jpg
I need to do this correction
    seal2.jpg
    Thank's

Change the devs. Sounds like they have not been set up properly. I have had this a few times in new machines. Got the Devs and wait 10mims before you initialise. This will make sure you have no static or electric in the Dev that can cause failed set up results and this.

    Hope me that helps.

Re: MPC 8002 toner powder everywhere..

Thank you for this delayed answer, i already fixed my machine but...
Interesting you try to tell me something like every time when i buy a new machine i must change the developer because it is not setup properly??
Or reading the service manual you can find how to reconfigure the right developer density for the development unit so i just followed the procedure.

Hiya. I was not saying you had not set it up wrong, I have had new machines but already had been set up from the factory and I don't think they do it to the book.

What did you do? Was it the devs?

    Tim.

Re: MPC 8002 toner powder everywhere..

I read the rtb with the tonner scattering and there was a setting
    i set 3301-023 M/A LowErr:K from 0.10 to 0.05
    the values is ([0.000 to 1.000 / 0.100 /0.001mg/cm2/step]

first it not fix my problem and is not writen in the rtb ..
but one step down i find also the 024
    3301-24 M/A LowErr:Col i set also to 0.05
    the values is [0.000 to 1.000 / 0.200 /0.001mg/cm2/step]
so a little bit bigger but i don't care i set this also to 0.05
Also i put the new seals with succes on the developer unit
Until now the machine working well (maybe until the seals come off (i cross my finger))
