Question RICOH MPC-2003SP (Toner is being finished very early)

    Hello everyone,
I've been facing a problem with RICOH MPC-2003SP. Don't know why machine is behaving like a monster ! In that mentioned model Cyan, Magenta & Yellow toner is finished so early within 3000-4000 pages which was not supposed to happen. It has already occurred in 6-7 machine's. And after some R & D found that the problem is in the Development unit. After replacing that specific development unit machine is running well few days. But now it is appearing again in most of the machine. Within 40k pages it is not possible to change same development unit twice. It is mentionable that, I've change the toner (original), updated the machine's firmware.
In this regard, please suggest me something or share with me if anyone already faced in this same issue and successfully solved.

    Hi there!
Check the sp 8851 - 8921 for the coverage, and sp 8071 for job-counters (pages per job). Maybe there´s a problem customer-based.
    Greetings...

Check the EDP code on the toner cartridges. EDP codes 814922, 814923 ans 814924 have projected yields of only 5.5K. These are intended for very low volume users.

EDP codes 814919, 814920 ans 814921 have projected yields of 9.5K.

Projected yields are based on an average coverage of 5%.

As mentioned above, remember 5% coverage is tiny.
When the user is replacing the toners is the bottle actually empty?
I change SP3110-1/2/3/4 set these to zero also change SP3100-02 toner end set by sensor only, this delays the toner near empty message & ensures the bottles are empty before the toner end message is displayed.

Hi any one toner usage optimization method (Toner Saving), I mean increase yield and minimize waste toner adding. we mostly using Third party Toners.

    Thanks

We never used third party toner ! Once one of our customer was used but within a few days that machine's color quality has faded out and he had to chaged the development unit.

That is a good question, do these machines have a toner save feature?

I don't know, maybe someone here does?

I believe it is no longer supported. Ricoh discontinued it as a machine setting a few models and made it a driver setting, then discontinued it on all the but the RPCS and maybe the PostScript driver. RPCS is no longer supported.
