MP 301 SPF PCU's shreding gears.

I work for a full line Toshiba dealer that is servicing a national account that has Toshiba and Ricoh MP 301's together at multiple locations.
I am certified on the full line of Toshiba's, and serviced the prior MP 201's that were previously at these locations. I have relied on the
service manuals for most issues. I am starting to see a trend with a few of the MP301's. They are less then 6 months old with the origin-
al PCU's installed. The call will come in that the copier says add toner. When I get on location I find that the toner cartridge is fine with plenty
of toner. What I find is the opening where the toner entered the PCU is packed and not feeding into it. After further examination I am finding
the gears inside the PCU are stripped out thereby not allowing toner to enter the PCU. Could this be an ATS issue? or is it just bad PCU's.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Fit the old type 1515 PCU's (like the MP201, etc.).
Just either swap the front plate, or snip the locator pin off the front of the machine to allow it to fit.
They work better, and they're less expensive

When you order a new PCDU the gears have been modified so it will only be the first units originally shipped in the 301 that will fail.
