RICOH SNMP
Hello gents!
One of our clients IT had a requirements on all of their network printing devices. The snmp community name should be changed to their assigned values.
Upon changing the stuff on ricoh devices, printers went offline. Any inputs on this? has anyone faced this issue before?
BTW: the printing environment does not have a print server. All printers are installed locally.

Re: RICOH SNMP
In the driver properties got to ports and configure the TCP/IP port with the new community name, or alternatively just uncheck the use of SNMP. Caveat when unchecking SNMP is that there will be no two-way communication, so I suggest when setting up the driver and port that you ensure the community name is correct.

Re: RICOH SNMP
Thanks for the input. Have tried in the customer's side...and it seems to be working fine. Now I gave all the loads to them to change the settings on each PC

Re: RICOH SNMP
What happens is when the driver on a computer sends SNMP request to the device and does not get a response within a specified time, it assumes the device is off line.
