I was taking apart on old C2500 touchscreen to put on a mp 5500 ( I think they're the same) The cable fell to the floor. How is this thing even attached?

it is part of the touchscreen. not sure how it is attached. i'd order a new one.
when i worked for the big red R, they did a swap of a ton of touch screens, not sure if it was the glue or something else was causing issues. i know some were flaky, could have been the cable becoming unglued.
NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING
Will a c4000 touchscreen fit the mp5000?

A conductive adhesive is used. If the adhesive is bright yellow it's in good shape. When it starts to turn brown you can anticipate losing connections. I know someone who has repaired some of these, and it's an iffy proposition. You have to have the right adhesive. You have to apply a high amount of pressure and heat. And you have to avoid breaking the glass. All the temperature changes and pressure makes the glass want to break.
Just spend the money for the new one. =^..^=
