Yep I've tried a bunch of things to get around that. Added RFG to the exception list, made sure I have latest version of java. It just won't work.

There is a process to follow when the applet doesn't run in order to give permission to the applet to run.

Secret handshake required or are you willing to enlighten us? I tried everything I could think of and suggestions off the internet to no avail. Since removing the medium security setting from more recent versions of Java unsigned applets have refused to run.

After updating Java, you need to use the Java Control Panel to configure Java.
    1. On the general tab - Temporary Internet Files - Settings delete files
    2. On the Security tab Enable Java content must be checked. The following need to be added to the Exception Site List
      1. 302 Found
      2. Ricoh-us.com

    3. Click Restore Security Prompts

Been there, done that, no good here. I even just went through uninstalling and updating and there is no change. I just get a window that says the applet does not have permissions.

If Ricoh simply had the applet properly signed by a real authority (yes, that costs money) this would not be an issue. Any other suggestions welcomed.
