Replaced many hard drives on the 2022, 3025, 2550 and 2851 series for this issue.
Does this model share the same type hard drive and if so where is it located (I usually tried to avoid this series)

No HDD option for this machine as far as I know
I've not personally run across a 'please wait' situation with this model (and I never worked on many of them either) but I'd start with the usual process: unplugging/disconnecting all optional components (fax, print/scan cards and dimms, finisher, etc.), and see if the message clears
