    Mpc2004 Fuser Noise

    Hi All
Just got asked to look at an mpc2004 only done 12k black 5k colour
Fuser is making an intermittent groaning sound you can feel the fuser vibrating slightly when it makes the noise
1st time ive looked at 1 of these but it reminds me of the mpc2051 fuser problems
has anyone else had this problem
by now i would have thought Ricoh would learn from its mistakes

When it makes roaring sounds, usually client have been printing onto thick paper without programing it...
    That is my experience.
Now your left to lubricate the fusing sleeve bushings, which I never tried before.
But I have learned from this (good old) website that you need to take the bushing off, of one end... lubricate it ..., and than do the same with the other end...

    They only use 80gsm paper
it is in a dusty office though
looks like a strip down clean and lube job
do they have a lube bar under the belt as in the mpc2051 ?

Stripped Fuser down including removing sleeve cleaned ,lubed and rebuilt
Fuser running fine now customer commented it was quieter than when they got the machine
would seem a small amount of light heat grease applied to the sleeve bushings helps

Elmo, curious what type/brand of grease you used and where exactly did you lubricate? Bushings only? Have one of these that periodically makes the vibration sound from the fuser area.
    Thanks in advance.

i have not done any mpc2004 series but when i did a mpc3002 fuser sleeve the grease that came with it looked like the same used when
rebuilding the older HP 4200/4300 fuser units.. It seems every new model rico takes a new design and not always for the better.......
give me a danm fuser roller any day......
