In saying that the same goes with the lower end MPC2003 and MPC2004 PCU's

Both are interchangeable between both models

With the 840 PCDU kits all that's required for them to work in a 04 series is to replace the TD sensor with harness off the original unit and place it in the 840 PCDU. Also if you are putting the 840 kits into a 3004, 3504 and 4504 you need to remove the lube bar and re tension the springs as the 840 PCDU's are designed for the 6004's with the lube bar tension already released

Also the PCDU front covers don't fit so I just leave them behind the machine

In saying this I have put the SPC840 in many models from MPC3004's all the way to 6004's with mixed results. On high colour used devices they seem to fail anywhere from 40 to 70% of their life, some have gone PM to PM, it's been real hit and miss.

Hi did you manage to do this on the 03 Range yet? It has a longer TD sensor but the issue seems to be the coil part at the bottom of the sensor will not allow it to lay flat.

    Thanks

Simply use the 04 PCU on the 03 way cheaper.

Yes they are, however you need to swap over the td sensor.

Big cost savings so worth the effort.
