Because Ricoh hates you. It is also missing the scanner free run I believe.

They moved it to Factory SP mode. It and a few other SPs that I used frequently.

I have grown to hate adf free run, because it lies to you. It does not run the adf at full speed.

I have had several issues where the adf will jam, where it can't be reproduced in adf free run. However, scanning to file or email in 200dpi B&W will reproduce the jam every time. One that comes to mind was a C3502 that had a sensor faulty (Might have been the 'last original' sensor, it's been a while now), 300dpi scanning or above, or ADF free run, it would run fine. 200dpi B&W it would jam consistently.

My current strategy for suspect adf's is to enter batch scanning mode (original feed type - batch) then scan at 200dpi B&W. Since you are in batch mode you can keep reloading originals as much as you like and the scanner runs at full speed. When you are happy, just press stop to cancel the job.

They moved free run to Special Service.
