    SOP-malfunction on METIS C-2 range

    Hi there!
On the april RICOH-newsletter was the information black screen, only blue led burning = pn D2411530 pwb main is gone.
I have now a MPC 3504 ASP in shop screen as in the photo. After ca. 60 seconds screen black, led on. 10 sec later screen as in photo reapears. Shutdown only for the engine, nothing changes at the SOP. Taken the pwb main from the showroom for testing. Suddenly there are 2 japanese (???) buttons. Name or password come in japanese. In the classic-appīs you have a mixture of german, english & japanese language. Making a factory-reset on the SOP = no more japanese, but a mixture of german & english + most of the widgets & apps were gone. Installed the newest SOP-fw (D2411425zip) resolved the problem. Installing the newest package-fw (vers. S) do not work at all.
I have now ordered the pwb (the price is horror, but itīs warranty) and hope i get the customers machine to work again.
    Greetings...

2017-06-01 13_03_07-SOP_fehlende_Sprachen_Zusammenfassung.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Reader&#.jpgFor the PCB MAIN (cpu board) you have to check the firmware only. So check first over SP5‐990‐00 printout lcdc fw and language 1+2. I hope the LegacyUIData is ok!? If language is blank a update is needed.

    That is not good.

I think Ricoh have taken a bit of a gamble going all-in with Android panels.

A few customers have commented that they don't like them.

The complaints range from the screen is too dim even on max, the viewing angle sucks, the screen glare from over head lighting sucks and the apps can be slow to load.

From a servicing point of view they have had a few issues. (USB connection, many firmware revisions to fix bugs).

Personally I don't dislike them, but I do prefer the Metis C1 range with the legacy panels.
