MP6001/7001/8001 vs MP9001 developing motor

Good afternoon all!

I've been tackling an SC441 on a MP9001. After ruling out the developing and toner units, I turned to the motor. As I only have a slower model at our facilities and the MP9001 developer motor has a different part number, I was left without any choices except testing the machine with the lower speed machine motor.

I just did it, expecting to get an error code or, at least, blurred images - but nothing so far. Machine is happily spitting out prints with good quality and no error codes whatosever so far.

So why the different part number for the MP9001? Endurance? Or one of those silly marketing plots?

The speed difference is from the controller not the motor
The motor will work well, maybe the lifetime will be shorter but nothing disturbing

This would be a great help in future,

But in my opinion the combination of Controller,Drive Board and Main drive Motor is different for different speeds.
will have to wait for more from Seniors.

Speed of the development motor is to an extent dependent on the motor. The motor used in the 60-80 ppm models is not as powerful as the one for the 9001 and may not last as long. It also may not be able to run at the same speed or a long copy/print run. If it slows down, you might get a slight decrease in image density. You could also have other image quality problems if the ID patch density is affected.

The speed will be no problem the machine will not slows down, but the power it is and the motor will work less than the original because long run printing will produce heating and the heating will cause shorter lifespan. Excessive heat melts the insulation of the wire of the motor coil. Do not worry too much
